ORTECH has extensive environmental permitting experience. We actively assisted two clients in obtaining the first two alternative standards issued by the Ontario Ministry of the Environment (MOE).

In Ontario, most industrial facilities are required to have a Certificate of Approval (CoA) granted by the MOE in order to operate. The MOE has recently proposed amendments to O.Reg. 419/05 that include:

• expanding the scope of operating conditions that need to be addressed when demonstrating compliance
• a new sector-based approach for companies that cannot demonstrate compliance with point of impingement standards
• several other specific but relatively minor technical and housekeeping changes
