Air Dispersion Modelling
ORTECH's clients rely on us for comprehensive and state-of-the-science air dispersion modelling. At the local or site-specific level we provide our clients with the expertise to demonstrate regulatory compliance against current and proposed air quality standards and guidelines. On a regional level we provide industry with modelling tools to predict the impact of industrial expansion on regional and transboundary air quality. On a global level ORTECH has provided airshed emissions determinations and global transport modelling of pesticides, greenhouse gases, and mercury.
Regulatory Compliance Dispersion Modelling
- set-up and running of industrial air dispersion models such as AERMOD, ISCPrime, ISCST3, O.Reg 346, SLAB, CALPUFF, etc.
- acquisition and pre-processing of terrain and complex meteorological input data; on-line access to current input databases
- output of modelling results in regulatory-compliant formats
- modelling of complex building effects including plume down-wash and topographical effects
- special-source modelling, such as for fugitive dust, mobile sources and odours
- on-site installation of modelling software and training for use by plant staff
Regional & Global Transport Modelling
- soil/air exchange modelling of semi-volatile organic compounds
- development of a Pesticide Emissions Model to predict local and long-range pesticide transport, for existing and potential new pesticide formulations
- mainframe computer data system development to produce pollutant emissions fields suitable for long-range transport models
- generation of temporally apportioned emissions associated with sources in finely resolved grid units in North America.
